For more than 25 years Bob Jacobsen presided over the airline known as Wings of Alaska. This book is in large part Bob's story told to Susan through the eyes of many others, yet Bob believes it is much more in that it honors the survivors and victims of the company's only fatal accident. It also recognizes the outstanding employees and community members who stepped up to help. Bob authored the prologue and epilogue and assisted throughout in assuring its accuracy. Bob opened his files, helped arrange interviews and agreed to its telling in order to positively influence the far-too-many aviation accidents still happening in Alaska and across the nation. Though he and his partners sold Wings of Alaska in 2008 to a Portland, Oregon company, Bob continues to be involved in Alaska aviation and tourism. He and his lovely bride Darlene and their two sons continue to live in Juneau, Alaska. Both young Jacobsen men work in the Alaska aviation industry.
